Ford Recalls 149,500 Bronco SUVs Over Shock Absorber Corrosion

Ford has issued a recall for nearly 149,500 of its larger Bronco SUVs due to potential corrosion issues affecting the rear shock absorbers.

The recall includes the following models:
- Model-years 2021-2024 Ford Bronco
- Specifically, Badlands trim and Sasquatch Package-equipped Broncos

What’s the Issue?
Corrosion may develop between the external shock reservoir, mounting flange, and damper body. This can lead to:
- Separation of the external reservoir from the vehicle
- Increased risk of road hazards
- Potential crash risks due to component failure
Is There a Fix?
As of now, Ford has not announced a remedy for the issue. However, the automaker will be notifying affected owners in phases:
- Interim notices will be mailed starting February 3, 2024
- A second notice will be sent once a solution becomes available
