Role Overview
The Senior Manager of Accounting will be a key member of the MotorVero accounting team, based at our CarOffer office in Dallas, TX. This position will bring public company expertise to our financial processes and play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of MotorVero. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled accounting professional with a strong ability to interpret and apply accounting principles while effectively communicating complex financial matters to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and review technical accounting estimates, including but not limited to sales allowances, inventory reserves, and doubtful account allowances.
  • Manage website development cost accounting, ensuring projects are capitalized appropriately and monitoring for impairment.
  • Maintain compliance with public company standards by documenting and executing monthly and quarterly SOX controls.
  • Update and maintain technical accounting position memos, ensuring accuracy and compliance with evolving regulations.
  • Provide financial insights by demonstrating the impact of accurate accounting on business transactions.
  • Partner with CarOffer to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance accounting efficiencies.
  • Work cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations, SEC reporting, and SOX teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between CarOffer and MotorVero, ensuring alignment between operational and reporting objectives.
  • Support external audits, including quarterly reviews and year-end financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of CarOffer-specific 10-Q and 10-K disclosures.
  • Provide accounting expertise for special projects and ad-hoc financial initiatives.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification required.
  • 8+ years of experience in a combination of public company industry and Big Four accounting firm environments.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in the automotive industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Highly motivated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting systems; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
